Since the day she was born in Mason city, Iowa, Louise Munday was surrounded by a love of dance. She has shared that fondness for fancy footwork with countless people throughout the Muscatine community, from choreographing public school productions to directing her students and performances at area long-term care facilities. Her passion with the many gifts tied to dance underscores her work. Miss Louise established her career in Muscatine in 1977. She has been a volunteer choreographer and dance instructor for many Muscatine community school District musicals and events. "This is how I give back to the community," she says. She also believes there is more to dance then what happens on stage, including the relationships that are built in dance class and the self-discipline and striving for success. "Students don't come to my studio as numbers, but as family," says Miss Louise, "and for that I thank the parents every year for the joy they give me by allowing me to work with their children."
Miss Louise has played an intricate roll in bringing different types of dance to the Muscatine Community.

"This picture means the world to me and my beginning as a dancer. This is a picture of my mother and me. My mother gave me my life and my future. I have proudly followed in her dance shoes. My father also loved to dance. I am grateful to my parents for the life they have given me.
Dance is a true form of expression and emotion & love. To have dance and teaching as my career fills my heart with such joy that there aren't words. It is my life."
"I have been given the privilege to not only teach, but to become a part of these students' lives and into their future, and to watch them grow into such incredible young people. I am so proud of the studio's tradition of family and grateful for my many years of teaching. I am truly blessed and love what I do. Dancing and teaching is my life and to be a small part of my students' lives has given me so much joy and love I can hardly explain. Muscatine is a wonderful community and am so proud to call Muscatine my home."
